During the Christmas season , Newport mansions get dressed with beautiful Christmas decorations to welcome visitors. A good opportunity to visit for the first or second time the mansions in a holiday atmosphere.
Indeed even if we go more to Newport during the summer season for the terrace, the marina or the beaches, during the winter season Newport has a lot to offer to visitor with numerous events and in particular the mansions decorated for Christmas.
It is a nice day out when we need more indoor activities . We can still go ice skating but if you want to stay warm you can visit the mansions from November 18 to January 1st.
You can listen to Christmas songs , meet Santa, eat Christmas cookies or drink some eggnog and even watch the Nutcraker .
There is something to do for grown ups and for kids. Visiting the Mansions during Christmas season is a good way to bring the kids who can admire the Christmas trees and decorations.
And after the visit, you can stay in Newport and eat in the really goods restaurants such as Clarke Cook House on Bannisters Warf or the White Horse Tavern on Marlborough Street, the oldest tavern of the US built in 1652 (people say it is haunted ….).
You can also take the Polar Express to meet Santa as well as in Blackstone Valley.
Newport is a great place all year round 🙂
